Waiting is a difficult job
The last two legacy, or “H” model C-130 aircraft assigned to the 913th Airlift Group sit on the ramp at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., Feb. 10, 2016. Many of these active and Reserve aircraft are being replaced by the C-130J Super Hercules, a comprehensive updated version with new engines, flight deck and other systems designed to improve performance and save money. These two aircraft are waiting to be transferred to other locations. Afterwards, the 913 AG will no longer be designated an “active association,” with their own Reserve aircraft, but a “classic association,” where they’ll work side by side with active duty Airmen on their C-130J model aircraft. The 913 AG will be the first C-130J model classic association in the Air Force. (U.S. Air force photo by Master Sgt. Jeff Walston/Released)
