It's time to celebrate! You're invited to the 3rd annual Liberty Fest at Little Rock AFB! Come on out to Heritage Park for our annual Independence Day celebration featuring country music artists Thompson Square and Easton Corbin! The event starts at 4 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2018, and the performers will be taking the stage at 7 PM. This event is free and is sure to be fun for the whole family! Celebrate Independence Day with this FREE family event at Heritage Park! There is fun and activities for everyone (be sure to check out the schedule of events below!). Come out and enjoy one of the biggest base-wide parties thrown by the 19th Force Support Squadron! Get ready to party with two of country music's hottest performers! Thompson Square and Easton Corbin are going to ROCK the stage at 7 PM! Win a Meet + Greet with Thompson Square and Easton Corbin -- AND be entered to win an autographed guitar (we're giving away two!) Starting on Monday, June 25, stay plugged into our Facebook page for a scavenger hunt! There will be THREE CLUES posted each day (Monday - Friday) along with a picture telling you exactly where that ticket will be. The first person to find that ticket will need to follow the instructions on the card attached to it to claim the prize. 913 AG Family/Team, Have fun and be safe! Here are a few things to think about before you take time off during the 4th of July holiday... 1) Fireworks Safety. - Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol - Never allow young children to handle fireworks - Older children should use them only under close adult supervision - Anyone using fireworks or standing nearby should wear protective eyewear - Never light them indoors or inside a car - Only use them away from people, houses and flammable material - Only light one device at a time and maintain a safe distance after lighting - Never ignite devices in a container - Do not try to re-light or handle malfunctioning fireworks - Soak unused fireworks in water for a few hours before discarding - Keep a bucket of water nearby to fully extinguish fireworks that don't go off or in case of fire - Better yet, grab a blanket and a patch of lawn, kick back and let the experts handle the show. As of today, there are no burn bans in Arkansas, but please make a mental note that there is a moderate wildfire danger for the following counties: Pulaski, Faulkner, White, Cleburne, Van Buren, Conway and Perry. Rest in the shade. - HYDRATE. HYDRATE. HYDRATE. Good ole H2O is best, but you may need to replace your electrolytes from time to time, especially if you’ve perspired too much for way too long. Avoid beverages containing alcohol or caffeine, as they tend to move water from the body. - Wear lightweight, light colored, loose-fitting clothing. - Apply appropriate SPF sunscreen before exposure to direct sunrays and re-apply often. You can bet the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission will be patrolling AR lakes and waterways monitoring for proper equipment and boat drivers under the influence. Look for these other signs of drowning when persons are in the water: ▪ Head low in the water, mouth at water level ▪ Head tilted back with mouth open ▪ Eyes glassy and empty, unable to focus ▪ Eyes closed ▪ Hair over forehead or eyes ▪ Not using legs – Vertical ▪ Hyperventilating or gasping ▪ Trying to swim in a particular direction but not making headway ▪ Trying to roll over on the back ▪ Appear to be climbing an invisible ladder. - Always wear a life jacket, especially when the boat is moving. Remember, it’s always better to be safe than sorry…No Regrets!! 🤔

"WE ARE AIRMEN" Recruiting Video Contest Here is a good opportunity for our more social media savvy Airmen to get involved in recruiting. AETC and Air Force Recruiting Service are hosting a recruiting video contest, in which they're asking Airmen across the Air Force to submit their own 30-60 second videos, to create a kind of commercial that would encourage people outside of the military to become future Airmen. Contest finalists will be flown to the AFA Air, Space and Cyber Conference in September, where they'll have lunch with CMSAF Kaleth O. Wright. The best video announcement will happen during a keynote address at the conference. Additionally, the contest winner will have the opportunity to shawdow the professional marketing crew that produces the Air Force's official recruiting commercials.
