(Right) Retired U.S. Navy Electrician’s Mate Senior Chief Petty Officer (SS) James Drannan and Cmdr. (SS) Mike Urquhart, share a hug before dinner at the All Cavalla Reunion 2018, in Galveston, Texas, April 20, 2018. Drannan retired in Bangor, Washington, after serving 21 years, just before Urquhart was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Urquhart went on to be commissioned from the Navy’s Aviation Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, Fla., in 1983, and rose to the rank of commander before retiring in 2003, after more than 29 years of faithful service.
