Americana transits the Arkansas River
The Pinta, a replica of one of Columbus’ ships docked at the River Market District on the Arkansas River October 29, 2017, in Little Rock, Ark. The Pinta, which was launched Feb. 25, 2005, was built to accompany the Nina on voyages for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the ‘caravel’, a Portuguese ship used by early explorers. Built by eighth generation Portuguese shipwrights, it took 20 men 32 months to build the Niña, and 36 months for the Pinta. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Jeff Walston/Released)
