Dogs compete in honor of National Police Week
Freaki, a U.S. Air Force military working dog (MWD), maintains a lock on Senior Airman Ashley Evans, a 19th Security Forces Squadron patrolman, during the “Military Working Dog (MWD) Competition" at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., May 17, 2017. The competition, which included area law enforcement agencies, was held in honor of National Police Week, and was designed to conduct tactical obedience with multiple distractors to ensure the MWD would maintain keen focus on the decoy suspect sitting on the tire. The dogs had to bypass several bite sleeves and suits on the ground to reach the decoy. Freaki’s handler was Senior Airman Ndidi Akalanze, who is assigned to the 19th SFS.
