A first sergeant assigned to the 913th Airlift Group at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark, has been recognized as one of the Twenty-Second Air Force Outstanding Airmen of the Year.

Master Sgt. Dennis P. Kash, first sergeant for the 913th Force Support Squadron, was named Outstanding Airman of the Year in the first sergeant category.

The Airmen were selected based on superior leadership, job performance and personal achievements.

Kash, who joined the Air Force in 1989, has been the 913th FSS first sergeant since January 2016.

“There are many others that deserve this credit. Previous mentors, friends and commanders have all played a valuable part in preparing me as a first sergeant thanks to you all,” Kash said. “I am so excited to be representing the 913th Airlift Group and I hope to make the members of Little Rock proud.”

Kash is presently an Instructor at a college in North Central Texas where he has been teaching for 16 years. He also teaches history at a private school, and is currently completing his master’s degree at the University of North Texas.
