  • Arkansas Reserve unit offers second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

    On Sunday, March 7, 2021, the Air Force Reserve 913th Airlift Group administered its second round of COVID-19 vaccines to Reserve personnel on Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. Group reservists and civilian employees were offered the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, which is being distributed using the Department of Defense’s phased approach and administered by military medical professionals assigned to the installation.
  • PT test pushed to July, updates to scoring, physical components ahead

    When assessments resume, the three-component fitness test (1.5 mile run, 1 minute of pushups and situps) will be reset with scores calculated on a new three component scoring table. In addition, work is underway to separate scoring into five-year age groups as opposed to the previous ten – for example, age groups will start at <25, 25-29 years old, 30-34, years old, etc.
  • ADLS training transitions to “myLearning” in first step for new force development learning management system

    As part of Air Education and Training Command’s efforts to aggressively and cost-effectively modernize education and training, Airmen and Guardians can access the “myLearning” digital platform on the Air Force Portal beginning March 18, with the first phase consisting of a modernized and interactive training platform that allows Airmen to access training modules previously found on the Advanced Distributed Learning Service (ADLS).
  • Department of the Air Force to allow shorts for maintainers, updates variety of uniform options

    Airmen and Guardians will now have more dress and appearance options with upcoming uniform changes to Air Force Instruction 36-2903, Dress and Appearance.
  • Air Force finalizes PT uniform design; will begin production process

    This is the first update to the PT uniform in more than 16 years, and more than 150 Airmen participated in testing the uniform.
  • Air Force announces officer stratification guidance

    “As we execute Action Order A (Airman), we must remain focused on a culture of transparency,” said Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr. “By strengthening our officer stratification policy, we are meeting that intent. This step is necessary to give officers a full understanding of where they stand amongst their peers as well as help better inform our talent management decisions.”
  • Reserve crews traversed Texas landscape for deployment training

    The 327th Airlift Squadron used the diverse and large Texas landscape to conduct deployment training among various dirt landing zones, training drop zones, as well as regional and military runways, Feb. 8-12, 2021.
  • Department of the Air Force Leaders direct second IG Disparity Review

    The review follows the department’s 2020 Racial Disparity Review released in Dec. 2020 and expands its focus into three additional racial categories (Asian, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander), gender, and one additional ethnic category (Hispanic/Latinx).
  • Help End Serial Offenders

    Remember the last time you had the wind knocked out of you. It brought you to your knees, eyes were stinging, you are gasping to breathe, you feel a little disoriented, and you can hardly speak. Early on in my Air Force career I was recovering from a trauma, and I focused on just trying to breathe. I was faced with the decision to file a Restricted or Unrestricted Report against a coworker for sexual assault/conduct. I was newer, less than a year, to the organization and feared no one would believe me and also feared how my chain of command would respond to my allegations since my offender was established within the organization. These were my personal fears and because of them I decided the right path for me at the time was to file a Restricted Report.
