CMSgt Zachary Chapin is the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 913th Airlift Group, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. Chief Chapin is the primary military advisor to the commander on the group’s status of mission readiness and force development for more than 400 personnel. He is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping the group’s Airmen as they continue to provide airlift, airdrop, aeromedical, and humanitarian missions around the world.
Chief Chapin joined the Air Force in 2004 as an aerospace ground equipment technician. After completion of basic military training and technical training school, he was assigned to the 434th Maintenance Squadron, Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana. He transferred to the 434th Maintenance Squadron propulsion flight in 2013 where he served as the non-commissioned officer in charge before becoming the non-commissioned officer in charge of occupational safety with the 434th Air Refueling Wing. In 2017, Chief Chapin was promoted to the Superintendent of Wing Inspections and in 2022 to the Senior Enlisted Leader, 434th Mission Support Group. He currently has the privilege of serving the Airmen of the 913th Airlift Group as the Senior Enlisted Leader.
Chief Chapin has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam and Operations Inherent Resolve, Freedom’s Sentinel, and Deliberate Resolve at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates.
