Little Rock adds helicopter to Heritage Park
Airmen assigned to the 314th and 19th Airlift Wings, prepare a Piasecki H-21 Workhorse helicopter for permanent display at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., June 25, 2016. The H-21 is a part of 314th AW history, which was activated in November 1948 as the 314th Troop Carrier Wing at Smyrna Air Force Base, Tenn. The Workhorse, which was commonly known as the “flying banana," was a multi-mission helicopter, utilizing wheels, skis, or floats. It served during the latter part of the Korean War and transported supplies to Korea and evacuated prisoners of war. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for July 14 at 9 a.m. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Jeff Walston)
